“Better to do something imperfectly than to do nothing flawlessly”
Hi everyone.
We are just back from a quick holiday to Bali and Lombok. We spent 3 great nights at the Grand Mirage in Tanjung Benoa near Nusa Dua. Then took a fast boat to Lombok and spent 3 nights at the Santosa resort on Sengigi beach. Lombok is like Bali 20 years ago very laid back, quite and beautiful. While there we caught up with my cousin Angela who lives the dream there with her husband and two children. Interesting to see how the family has adapted to the local lifestyle and environment. The kids 11 and 14 years, love the place and are thriving at the international school and the social scene.
Ange took us for a stroll around the village where they live. Certainly makes you appreciate what we have and what we take for advantage.
Our last night before flying home was spent in south Kuta (Tuban) at The Bali Gardens Resort. We haven’t been back to Bali since the last bombings (missed it by 3 days thank god) and could not believe how crowded the Kuta road and footpath was, it is very unpleasant and a big culture shock after Lombok (I heard tourism is up 20% this year probably due to the cheap airfares and the problems in Thailand) Fortunately the beach frontage is a lot quieter with lots of nice bars and restaurants to relax in.
Charm Hunt
Back in Albany and things suddenly revert back to normal (no more laying around the pool in 30 degree heat ahhhh) and so with school holidays happening we are having a bit of fun with a hunt the bead promo. Each day of the holls starting Monday 5th we will be hiding a sterling silver charm somewhere in the shop cabinets. This is only being promoted via this newsletter and only I will know where the charms are hidden. The average value of these charms is $50 and they will fit most charm bracelets (Bacio, Spinning, Pandora etc) There is only one to go out each day and they will be well hidden so it is a great excuse to have a good look around.
If you are feeling the cold, drop into the shop and have a look at our range of winter scarves. Once you start wearing a scarf you will wonder how you ever lived without one.

Went to the new “Rustlers” Friday night. Tammy and Dean have done a great job converting the old Green Door gym into a stylish and modern restaurant. The food is really good and when they get their liquor license it will add another dimension to the experience. Albany should be proud of these entrepreneurs for stepping up and investing large amounts of time and money in this project, especially in the current economic climate.
More World Cup Trivia to impress your friends with.
My favorite–The only person to have played both World Cup Football and World Cup Cricket is Viv Richards – playing for Antigua in football and West Indies in cricket
No host country had ever been eliminated in the first round – until South Africa in 2010.
Shirt swapping was once officially prohibited in 1986 because FIFA did not want players to ‘bare their chests’ on the field. (Just as well it’s the best bit)
This month’s winner of the $50 voucher is Rhonda Martin I look forward to seeing Rhonda soon.
